Administrative
Assistant/Bookkeeper Ruth Newman has been with the
department since 1986. She is intimately involved in the daily
operations of the district and it's through her dedication and
organizational skills that "things happen." She is available
at the Hessel Station during normal business hours or by email at
ruthnew@sonic.net.
While the daily
operations of the organization fall to the paid staff, the
department's ability to handle larger incidents such as
structure and wildland fires and traffic accidents would not be
accomplished without the dedication of our volunteers. We have
personnel living throughout our community who commit their free time
to train approximately one night a week and respond to calls at all
hours of the day and night. Many occasionally work
part-time shifts to help maintain our minimum staffing of at
least one engine, 24 hours a day. If you would like to
serve your community, become a volunteer. |
